30 Jan 09, 18:20 paul: the problem im having now is that their is a System Volume Information folder, that when deleted creates the recycler folder again. So i am simply not deleting for now |
30 Jan 09, 18:20 paul: the ( rmdir ) command only works with directory's that are already empty. Look on wikipedia.com for a list of ms-dos commands |
30 Jan 09, 18:17 paul: then use (rmdir recycler) -> not recycle "d", and you are done. Do it to all your drives and then unplug them if their usb until all your drives are done |
30 Jan 09, 18:12 paul: it should only contain a recycle bin with access denied when you try to delete it |
30 Jan 09, 18:11 paul: so afterapplying the attributes and deleting their contents you delete the contents of recycler folder with "unlocker" |
30 Jan 09, 18:09 paul: if it doesnt work just try it after a restart, you might have to steps 5-7 over again. |
30 Jan 09, 18:08 paul: you have to use a windows program called unlocker assistant which gives you the option too delete files that are locked. Some files just cant be unlocked and deleted, but try it after a restart. |
30 Jan 09, 18:04 paul: i think i figured it out. -> Y means to select yes when it asks to confirm delete. and (rmdir recycled) should actually be rmdir recycler, but you can only delete it after you empty its contents. |
30 Jan 09, 02:21 paul: it says not able to find file Y. Also this command is not recognized from the root directory - (rmdir recycled) |
30 Jan 09, 02:18 paul: actually i need to know exactly what to type in steps 5-7. I dont understand what the Y is for in this step - (cd recycler -> del *.* ->Y -> cd..) |
30 Jan 09, 02:05 paul: hey i was just wondering if anyone can help out explain the commands a little better in the 7th step of how to fix the recycler.exe virus |
30 Jan 09, 02:03 paul: is anyone on |
